Value Creation – Long-term charts, Fab Five vs. Telco Top Five (March 4)

Attached is this week’s interim equity value report for the Fab Five and the Telco Top Five.  The Fab Five largely followed the market trends, with $227 billion lost in the past week.  37% of the Fab Five weekly loss is driven by Amazon, as many fear that rampant inflation will drive down consumer spending.  For 2022, however, the disproportionate loss goes to Meta/ Facebook, representing $377 billion or 28% of the total loss for the group.

The Telco Top Five has been relatively strong this week, with overall losses minimized to $7 billion (< 1%).  Verizon held an upbeat analyst day last Thursday (materials here) and Comcast also posted a small gain this week.  Some cracks are showing in the Charter share price, perhaps due to the Frontier earnings report that we covered in last week’s Sunday Brief

More next Sunday.  Please let me know at [email protected] if there are additional details you would like to see highlighted in these interim reports.  Have a terrific rest of the weekend!
