Note: Please refer to last week’s iPhone availability report for the full methodology.
Here are the changes to iPhone 17 Pro availability from the previous week:

Nearly half of the total SKUs are in stock or nearly so. Silver continues to be the color out of favor and, in a few instances, Deep Blue is popping up with a shortage. The initial shortages are being overcome, and there is nothing in a critical state (although, if Silver worsens, that would be a newsworthy item).
We cannot discern why the iPhone 17 Pro has normalized quickly. We know it’s not because of the iPhone Air as every color and size are available today across the three carriers (they are not selling out). Our guess is that the iPhone Air (like the Mini) will have its fans, but not moving existing iPhone 17 Pro customers.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is experiencing shortages, and they have moved beyond Cosmic Orange:

A clearer pattern here that there are backlogged devices beginning to appear. AT&T’s backlog level is more slowly growing than Verizon’s or T-Mobile’s, but there is a movement to the right. What this likely means is that there are more upgrades from the Pro to the Pro Max than originally forecasted. Fixing the Pro Max backlog is (slightly) harder than fixing an iPhone or iPhone Pro backlog. We will need to keep an eye on this trend.
Lastly, we should note that the iPhone 17 backlogs are beginning to emerge for certain colors (Sage, Lavender) at each of the carriers. All three had one or more colors in stock for the 256 GB and 512 GB sizes. This seems to be confined to specific color/ memory combinations.
