As expected, all iPhone 17 Pro colors and sizes are in stock for each of the Big 3 carriers as the following charts show:

Black Friday specials will begin to appear shortly (T-Mobile has an annoucnement scheduled tomorrow) which may impact iPhone 17 Pro availability. For now, however, looks like no backlogs.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is starting to get closer to general availabliity but is not there yet. As we discussed in previous iPhone 17 updates, we consider the Thanksgiving week to be critical to ensuring uninterrupted availabliity through the Holiday selling season. Our experience has shown that if they don’t have ample supply heading into Black Friday, backlogs could be more prevalant. Here are the charts for the iPhone 17 Pro Max:

While shortages in any color/ size are not critical for each carrier, it does indicate that inventories are very low for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. It’s difficult to determine whether this is a factor of additional consumer upgrades (very likely reason), business/ government agency purchases (another likely reason), or poor supply chain planning by Apple (unlikely reason). We think that those who can afford the extra monthly payment are disproportionately upgrading to the iPhone 17 Pro Max from the Pro version. Assuming the memory is a “like for like” swap (e.g., upgrading a 512 GB iPhone 14 Pro for a iPhone 17 Pro Max), it’s not a huge surprise to see certain memory shortages.

What could happen is that the carriers offer a memory upgrade to keep new customers orders flowing (and, in certain circumstances, to retain existing customers). If this happens, then shortages could spread to 1 TB and 2 TB levels. As stated earlier, we could be looking at less supply certainty for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

We will continue tracking until the iPhone 17 Pro Max is at general availiability. Please direct all comments and questions to [email protected]. Full file is below.
